BRMC's Community Benefit Report
Bedford Regional Medical Center followed the
Catholic Health Associationís (CHA) guide for
planning and reporting community benefit.
Community Benefit is a revision of CHA's Social
Accountability Budget released in 1989. The
Guide's purpose is to help not-for-profit mission-
driven health care organizations develop,
enhance, and report on their community benefit
programs.

NEW: ONCOLOGY CANCER REPORT FOR '07
The Bedford Regional cancer program is one of only 34 hospitals in Indiana
to be accredited by the American College of Surgeons ñ which is the national enti-
ty that sets the standards for and evaluates performance of hospital-based cancer
programs.Members of our nursing team are certified by the Oncology Nursing
Society.We are dedicated to providing ongoing education for our physicians and
nurses through regularly scheduled cancer committee and tumor board meet-
ings,as well as programs provided by Community Cancer Care,and certification
offered through the Oncology Nursing Society.
