The Work Team is committed to helping employers manage workers' compensation costs. Our Occupational Medicine Team treats injured workers promptly, handles all cases efficiently and returns employees to work as soon as reasonably possible.
Injured workers are treated in our Occupational Medicine clinic at Bedford Regional Medical Center which is located adjacent to the Hospital Emergency Department within the hospital proper.
Its convenient location allows for cost-effective and prompt access to diagnostics, support services and treatment.
Easy access to care means the injured worker can be seen the same day as injured or when symptoms progress requiring medical treatment. Whether the employer phones ahead or employee is sent to the Occupational Medicine Clinic, assessment will be initiated upon arrival.
Following each physician visit an Injury/Illness report is generated outlining the employee's diagnosis, work restrictions, treatment plan and return appointment date if necessary. In 90% of cases, care can be exclusively administered by a trained occupational medicine physician. If a specialist is needed, a referral will be made and communicated in the injured workers' treatment plan.
The employer can also receive a phone call from our trained staff following the initial visit to outline the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan if the company supplies us with a contact name and telephone number.
A dedicated staff of Case Coordinators/Managers will work directly with employers to ensure a smooth progress through the Work Team/BRMC system.
